Hello, and welcome to my page here at Sheezy Art! My name is Heather Van Winkle and most of my artwork revolves around my love for antique style illustration, folk lore, whimsy, faeries and fairytales.
By day I'm a professional jewelry designer, but in my spare time I am focused on refining my artwork in hopes of someday doing children's illustrations. You can see my artwork at: www.reverieart.com.
Like most artists it seems, I got my start with art by watching my mom being crafty. Perhaps it happened before birth, surely it was no chance that she was taking painting lessons while pregnant with me? Anyhow, I got my early start by destroying my baby furniture with my first masterpeices, then moved on to painting rocks and stray peices of wood in the garage to be near Mom while she crafted, and then finally moved on up to real paper and art supplies
To me, art and writing go hand in hand and it seems like those first books you read and fall in love with are the ones that shape you as a person and really leave their mark. That's why I have such a love for illustration. I hope to make something that others can fall in love with, just as I fell in love with so many books and their illustrations. Someday!!!!
Currently I live with my husband in the south west with out 2 dutch lops Belle & Sebastian and two extremely adorable kittens, Sophie and Madeleine. They're all a source of inspiration and support!
